Belgian beer lovers in the mid-Atlantic region, take note. One of the USA’s top Belgian beer festivals starts today. The 11th annual edition of Max’s Taphouse Belgian beer fest begins at 11 am, and runs through this Monday, President’s Day. There will be around 140 Belgian beers on tap over the course of the weekend, and over 200 in bottles.

I will have a slide show with around 1,600 images from about 80 Belgian breweries running on a continuous loop on Max’s big-screen TV, all weekend long. This will include about 200+ new photographs for this year, with photos from new breweries, and newer photos from places like Chimay, De Gulden Spoor, De Struise Brouwers, Lindemans, Oud Beersel, Orval,

Breweries new to the area, such as Brasserie de Bastogne and Brouwerij de Kazematten, are also featured, and will have beers poured at the event.

Max’s has pulled some very rare bottles from our beer cave and will be selling it to go starting Friday morning at 11am at the bar under the stairs (The cave). This is first come first serve. We will not hold bottles and there will be limits on amounts and breweries; on many of them.We will limit 1 cantillon and 1 drie fontenien per person.
