There will be a craft brewing and brewery expo in Antwerp on October 17-19, in an exhibition hall/conference center in a former warehouse on the banks of the river Schelde. The “Waagnatie” is a place where ships used to load and unload their cargo in the past, and it has been remodeled into a large space with over 5,000 square meters of exhibition/display area.
There will be exhibitors with brewing equipment from homebrew size on up to large breweries. There will be many kinds of supplies/ingredients on display, such as hops, malts, yeasts, bottles, kegs, brewhouses, and much more.
The location is historically related to beer, as there were breweries in the area from as early as the 16th century. Beer was exported from Antwerp beginning around that time, and there were 17 breweries located there at the height of its importance.
